geoPaste youtube video demo has been viewed about 200 times so far, started to get a few comments as well.

1 September 2009:

Went to the inaugural Sydney Google Technology Users Group GTUG at Google HQ and did a brief presentation on geoPaste which seemed to be well received. Had no time to prepare ( or get too nervous ) so showed the youtube video demo and discussed a bit about geoPaste's use of Google Maps and App Engine. Great opportunity for me as ADC2 contest had just closed about 2 hours (local time) before I spoke. Thanks to Pamela Fox from Google for her assistance ( & encouragement @ 12:08 am earlier that morning ).

31 August 2009:

ADC2 contest closed, got geoPaste entered in time ! Had to make a late config change at about 23:00 as I forgotten to turn off debugging, whoops, thanks to a reminder in the Android Discussion group from Mark Murphy. Glad I did, as this seemed to make everything a bit faster and more responsive.

Read email later and saw Nick asking for speakers for GTUG next day, replied and said I'd give it a shot if needed ( I don't like public speaking much ), got a response straight back from Pamela Fox being encouraging & saying equipment was available.

Got enquiries about geoPaste from the mail address on website re the video.

30 August 2009:

Removed draft geoPaste entry in android market site and republished again in the ADC2 site. (Turned on FF cookies to see if that would help, after being listed as a draft (?)).

29 August 2009:

Submitted geoPaste into ADC2 for the first time, phew. Checked hours later and Submitted app was gone ? Eventually found it saved as a draft in the Android Market site ( huh ?).

... many late nights working on geoPaste, took all annual leave again in July (2 years in a row for ADC - got to have a holiday again sometime it now been over 3years !) to also have nearly 4 weeks  12*7 dedicated to development & testing.

27 May 2009:

ADC2 officially announced at Google IO :-) Wish I could get to IO but no time/funds, participants got a free HTC Magic, wow, oh well least I can see the session videos ! Began the serious business of bringing geoPaste together in time for 31 August deadline. Put imageotag aside for the time being to do the contest again.

April 2009:

Dan Morill posts that ADC2 will be on again (yippee), and had a bit of fun discussing fart apps etc.

... working on imageotag, which is completed essentially,  but still no android market in Oz, guess there is not much point for us (very) few devs.

...

November, December 2008:

Got a T-Mobile G1 from US a week after launch, great phone !

But had few issues with Optus over $14,500 phone bill (WTF!!!) - that's a story for another day...

Doing bits of research for geoPaste, spent a lot of time trying to use accelerometer to 'paint' like a spray can, this works ok after calibrating on real device,  except for down & to the left movements which don't seem to register/translate very well. Oh well, continuing with imageotag until we hear something more concrete about ADC2. Can see a lot of reuse of imagetag components for geoPaste.

Late September & Early October 2008:

geoPaste concepts crystalize a bit more,  think of a name,  registered domain name and reserve name in app engine.
